Zach's soccer game- The Pirates

Zach had his first soccer game yesterday. It was fun to watch. Zach worked up quite a sweat, a little bigger field than what they had been practicing on. The pirates (Zach's team) didn't win, but you could see improvement as the game went on and Zach looked like he was having fun- which is important to me. I bet they will be even better next week.

No new pictures- just ramblings

I have no new pictures to post lately. I think it's because I have started to be a little more selective in the pictures I take, reason: I just developed over 200 pictures to scrapbook (that's from Easter). I have a hard time deleting any pictures from my camera or computer. If there's a picture with Zach or Cale, for some reason I think I need to keep it and have it on a scrapbook page. I do need to figure out a new system.

Our family schedule has picked up a bit since school starting, we no longer are spending the evenings just hanging outside watching the kids play and talking to the neighbors. Zach started soccer this week and seems to be enjoying it- he had 2 practices this week and games start the 19th. Awana ( a program at church) also started this week, both boys will be attending and Eric and I will be taking turns helping. Eric has been playing flagfootball on two teams, which both remain undefeated so far. Last night the boys and I went to watch him- it was a beautiful evening and fun to watch. I am giving ladies tennis a try- which I should have thought through a little more, I am worse than what I thought. Oh well, at least it will be some exercise and good listen in humility.

Biking

This past Saturday, Eric and I rented a tandem bike from Big Creek Marina and spent a couple hours on the trails. We both have bikes, but they are hanging on the ceiling in our garage needing work done to them. I really loved the tandem bike- one because I am not the best biker, two we could talk like we were walking side by side and three because if I got lazy Eric could peddle my butt up the hill. :)

If I wanted to enjoy natural scenery I would have to look right or left; otherwise I got a view of my husband. I think it was a good thing I couldn't see where we were going, because I tend to get nervous if we would go to fast or tired before I start up a big hill- I just had blind faith.

We really enjoyed the bike trail and hope to do it again sometime.

We had the opportunity to do this thanks to Eric's parents watching the boys. We really appreciate it when we get to spend time the two of us and leaving the boys in such great hands.

Zach's first day of school- 1st grade

Off to school for another year. I will be anxiously awaiting his return home to see how his day went. He seemed excited to go and we met his teacher on Monday and I hoping and praying she is a good one, she made a great first impression.

A couple of first on our weekend in Nebraska

Cale so badly wants to be a big boy like his brother. Without us really asking him, he says he wants to go down the big slides like Zach and he did, over and over and over again.

It wiggled for weeks, so close to falling out for days, but finally by taking a bite into a marshmallow, Zach's first tooth fell out this weekend.

The tooth fairy waited until we were back home, mostly because when the kids went to sleep so did the fairy.

Eugene T. Mahoney State Park

It's our 3rd time camping at Mahoney State Park , which us about 30 miles southwest of Omaha. It has everything you could want in one park: camping with clean bathrooms, miniature golf, paddle boats, aquatic center with slides and wave pool, indoor and out door playgrounds, tennis courts, small botanical center, observation tower, hiking trails and a place to get food. Those are the things we used this time, but they also have a lodge and cabins to stay in, fishing, horseback riding and it's located near an air museum and the wildlife safari The boys love to camp, however they aren't always true campers, since they need a little down time and watch a little tv every once in awhile.

We did wake up one morning to a muddy mess and a lot of water on our canopy, but we were safe and the mud dried- so it was all good.

Zach and Cale loved climbing this observation tower, we did it on several different occasions.

Miniature golfing and Paddle Boating

Look at Cale watch his big brother so intently, he admires him so much, but he also so badly wants to beat him at anything and to go first- ALL THE TIME, too bad he's always going to be the little brother, I have a feeling with as competitive he is at 3, he will beat him someday.

They love miniature golf.
